Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the By-Laws.)

These By-Laws amend the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) By-Laws made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951 by fixing the minimum and maximum fares payable as follows—

(1) fare for hire of a taxi where not more

than 4 passengers are carried—for the first one and one-half miles or part of such distanceminimum£2·00

for each minute or part of a minute during which the taxi is kept waiting by the hirerminimum13·3p

(2) additional fare—

The Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 1990 and the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 1992 are revoked as a consequence of these By-Laws.
