Education (Student Loans) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996

Coming into operation

The Department of Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 3(2) of and paragraphs 1(1), (3) and (4), 2(1) and (1A) and 3(4) of Schedule 2 to the Education (Student Loans) (Northern Ireland) Order 19901, and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Loans) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 15th November 1996.

Amendment of the Education (Student Loans) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19962

In regulation 13 of the Education (Student Loans) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19962

a

after paragraph (4) there shall be inserted the following paragraph—

4A

The loans administrator on receiving an eligibility form completed and certified in accordance with paragraph (4) shall pay £4 to the governing body which sent it.

b

after paragraph (5) there shall be inserted the following paragraph—

5A

The loans administrator on receiving an eligibility form completed and certified in accordance with paragraph (5) shall pay £2 to the governing body which sent it.

These Regulations amend the Education (Student Loans) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and come into operation on 15th November 1996.

Provision has been made in accordance with paragraph 2(IA) of Schedule 2 to the Education (Student Loans) (Northern Ireland) Order, as amended by paragraph 3(3)(b) of the Schedule to the Education (Student Loans) (Northern Ireland) Order 1996, for the payment by loan administrators to an institution of higher education of specified fees for the steps they are required to take in connection with applications for loans.
