ROAD TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES

Coming into operation
21st October 1996
WHEREAS the Department of the Environment is satisfied that it is desirable in the interests of safety to restrict the speed of motor vehicles on part of Victoria Road, Route A5(T3), Magheramason, Londonderry;
AND WHEREAS the Department has published notice of its intention in compliance with Article 51(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1);
NOW THEREFORE the Department, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 51(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Temporary Speed Limit (Magheramason) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 21st October 1996.
2. The driving of motor vehicles at a speed greater than 30 miles per hour on Victoria Road, Route A5(T3), Magheramason, Londonderry, from a point approximately 100 metres south-west of its junction with Meenagh Road, Unclassified No. 1809, to a point approximately 85 metres north-east of its junction with Clampernow Road, Unclassified No. 1157, is prohibited for a period of 4 months from 20th October 1996.

This Order prohibits in the interests of safety the driving of motor vehicles at more than 30 miles per hour on Victoria Road, Route A5(T3), Magheramason, Londonderry, from a point approximately 100 metres south-west of its junction with Meenagh Road, Unclassified No. 1809, to a point approximately 85 metres north-east of its junction with Clampernow Road, Unclassified No. 1157, for a period of 4 months commencing on 21st October 1996.
Any person who contravenes the Order shall be guilty of an offence under the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale (£1,000).
Traffic signs indicating the effect of the Order will be erected on the road in due course.
