The Department of Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 5(1), 10(6), 12, 14, 19(e) and (i) and 60(1) of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Johne’s Disease (Revocation) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 10th October 1996.
2. The Johne’s Disease Order (Northern Ireland) 1976(2) and the Johne’s Disease (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1989(3) are hereby revoked.

This Order revokes the Johne’s Disease Order (Northern Ireland) 1976 and the Johne’s Disease (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1989.
The effect of these revocations is that the Department of Agriculture no longer has certain powers to deal with cases or suspected cases of Johne’s disease or to take certain steps to prevent the spread of that disease.
