This Order amends the Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy Order (Northern Ireland) 1995 by extending the power of the Department of Agriculture to require cleansing and disinfection so that it also relates to—
(a)vehicles and equipment on or in which there is or has been an affected or suspected animal or the carcase of such an animal;
(b)premises, vehicles and equipment on or in which there is or has been mammalian meat and bone meal or material containing it.
The Order also imposes certain new requirements relating to the cleansing and disinfection of premises, vehicles or equipment in or in connection with which mammalian meat and bone meal is produced, stored or transported.
