Citation and commencement
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Curriculum (Programmes of Study in Economics, Political Studies and Social and Environmental Studies at Key Stage 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996.
(2) Subject to paragraph (3), this Order shall come into operation on 1st September 1996.
(3) This Order shall come into operation on 1st August 1997 in respect of pupils in the second year of the fourth key stage.
Interpretation
2. In this Order “the Document” means the document published by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office entitled “Key Stage 4, Programmes of Study, Economics, Political Studies and Social and Environmental Studies”(1).
Specification of the programmes of study
3. The programmes of study described in the Document for Economics, Political Studies and Social and Environmental Studies are specified in relation to the fourth key stage as set out in the Document.
4. The contents printed in italics in the Document serve to illustrate the programme of study described and do not form part of the provisions which have effect by virtue of this Order.
