Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Rules.)
These rules which apply to proceedings in the High Court and county courts provide for applications
under the Matrimonial Causes (Northern Ireland) Order 1978 and under Article 31 (declaration as to martial status), 41 (transfer of tenancy upon divorce) and Part IV (financial relief after overseas divorce) of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings (Northern Ireland) Order 1989, revoking and replacing the Matrimonial Causes Rules (Northern Ireland) 1981 [S.R. 1981 No. 184 as amended by S.R. 1989 No. 246 and S.R. 1993 No. 134]; and
under the Children (Northern Ireland) Order 1995.
