ROAD TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 13(1) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, and in accordance with Article 19C(3) of that Order with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 2nd September 1996.
2. For Schedule 3 to the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991(2) there shall be substituted—

These Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Driving Licences) (Large Goods and Passenger-Carrying Vehicles) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1991 by amending the fees payable for driving licences for large goods and passenger-carrying vehicles as follows—
(a)a provisional licence for a large goods vehicle, from £15·00 to £24·00;
(b)a full licence for a large goods vehicle, from £10·00 to £24·00;
(c)a provisional licence for a passenger-carrying vehicle, from £22·50 to £24·00;
(d)a full licence for a passenger-carrying vehicle (including a restricted pcv licence), from £22·50 to £24·00;
(e)a duplicate licence, from £6·00 to £12·00;
(f)the issue of a licence following the expiration of a period of disqualification for holding or obtaining a licence (unless no fee is payable), from £6·00 to £12·00;
(g)a replacement licence (unless no fee is payable), from £6·00 to £12·00;
(h)removal of endorsements from a licence, from £5·00 to £12·00; and
(i)addition of category ‘E' to a licence, from £5·00 to £12·00.
Conversion from a provisional licence to a full licence remains free of charge.
