18.—(1) This regulation applies to a person who—
(a)was entitled to a qualifying benefit, and
(b)ceased to be entitled to a qualifying benefit on taking up training.
(2) In determining for the purposes of regulation 2 (period of entitlement to a qualifying benefit) whether any 2 or more periods of entitlement to a qualifying benefit link to form a single such period, any period during which he was a person to whom this regulation applies shall be disregarded.
(3) Where a person takes up employment within 14 days of his ceasing to be a person to whom this regulation applies, any claim for a bonus made by him shall be determined as if regulation 7(2)(b) (requirements for a bonus) was omitted.
