1. In section 31(6), for “breathing apparatus of a type approved by the chief inspector”, there shall be substituted “suitable breathing apparatus”.
1965 c. 20: by S. R. 1979 No. 246 references to the chief inspector are to be construed as references to an inspector appointed by the Department of Economic Development (formerly the Department of Manpower Services seeS.I. 1982/846 (N.I 11) Article 3) under Article 21 of the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978 or an inspector so appointed who is authorised to act for the purposes of the provision in question.
