3. The Committee may in addition to any payments made under paragraphs 1 or 2, pay to a member of the Committee a financial loss allowance in connection with service as a member of the Committee, but such allowance shall not exceed the amount of financial loss allowance as the Department may from time to time determine under section 36 of the Local Government Act (Northern Ireland) 1972(1).
