The Registration (Land and Deeds) (1992 Order) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order brings into operation on 1 st October 1992 the provisions of the Registration (Land and Deeds) (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 except for the following provisions of that Order:—

(a) Article 13 (which relates to extinguishment of leasehold estates);

(b) Article 27 (which relates to minors and persons suffering from mental disorder);

(c) Articles 29 to 32 inclusive (which relate to errors. rectification and compensation);

(d) Article 33(6) (which relates to priority searches);

(e) Article 38 (which relates to the application of the Land Registration Act (Northern Ireland) 1970 to statutory charges);

(f) Article 39(1) and (3) (which relate to memorials of deeds);

(g) Article 41 (which relates to the vacation of pending actions registered in the Registry of Deeds);

(h) Article 45 (which relates to lodgement of documents in the Registry of Deeds by post);

(i) Article 47 (which relates to searches in the Registry of Deeds); and

(j) certain minor and consequential amendments and repeals.
