ELECTRICITY

Electricity (1992 Order) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992

The Department of Economic Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 1(2) and (3) of the Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992F1 and paragraph 2(1) of Schedule 1 to the Northern Ireland Act 1974F2 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

F1S.I. 1992/231 (N.I. 1). Provision is made by Article 1(2) and (3) of that Order for the coming into operation of the provisions of S.I. 1992/232.

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Electricity (1992 Order) (Commencement No. 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992.

Interpretation

2.  In this Order “the Commencement No. 1 Order” means the Electricity (1992 Order) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992 F3.

Commencement

3.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the provisions of the Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 and the Electricity (Northern Ireland Consequential Amendments) Order 1992 F4 which were not brought into operation by the Commencement No. 1 Order shall come into operation on 1st April 1992.

(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to the provisions set out in the Schedule to the extent mentioned in that Schedule.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order brings into operation on 1st April 1992 most of the provisions of the Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 which were not brought into operation by the Electricity (1992 Order) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992. The only provisions of the Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 which remain to be brought into operation are those set out in the Schedule to this Order, relating to the use, etc, of electricity meters.

This order also brings into operation on 1st April 1992 the remaining provisions of the Electricity (Northern Ireland Consequential Amendments) Order 1992.
