Citation and interpretation

1.—(1) This order may be cited as the Social Security (1990 Order) (Commencement No. 3) Order (Northern Ireland) 1991.

(2) In this order any reference to a numbered Article or Schedule is to the Article of or, as the case may be, the Schedule to, the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1990 bearing that number.

Appointed days

2.  The day appointed for the coming into operation of—

(a)Article 6 (computation of additional pension for purposes of invalidity pension, etc.), is 6th April 1991;

(b)paragraph 9 of Schedule 6 (tax years) and Article 22(1) (minor and consequential amendments) in so far as it relates to it, is 6th April 1991;

(c)paragraph 9 of Schedule 4 (the insurance companies which may take transfer values) and Article 16(1) (miscellaneous amendments relating to pensions) in so far as it relates to it, for the purpose of authorising the making of regulations which are expressed to come into operation on or after 4th November 1991, is 13th May 1991;

(d)paragraph 9 of Schedule 4 in so far as it is not already in operation and Article 16(1) in so far as it relates to it, is 4th November 1991.
