PART I N.I. INTRODUCTORY

Title and commencement N.I.

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Registration (Land and Deeds) (Northern Ireland) Order 1992.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on such day or days as the Head of the Department may by order appointF1 .

Interpretation N.I.

2.—(1) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954F2 shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

(2) In this Order—

“the 1970 Act” means the Land Registration Act (Northern Ireland) 1970F3 ;

“the Deeds Act” means the Registration of Deeds Act (Northern Ireland) 1970F4 ;

“the Department” means the Department of the Environment.

(3) Part II shall be construed as one with the 1970 Act.

(4) Part III shall be construed as one with the Deeds Act.
