1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Wages (Northern Ireland) Order 1988.
(2) Except as provided by paragraph (3), this Order shall come into operation on the expiration of two months from the day on which it is made.
(3) The following provisions of this Order shall come into operation on such day as the Department may by order appoint—
Part II; Article 26 so far as relating to Part II;
Schedule 1; Paragraphs 1, 2, 4 and 6 of Schedule 4 and Article 27(1) so far as relating thereto; and Part II of Schedule 5 and Article 27(2) so far as relating thereto.
(4) An order under paragraph (3) may contain such transitional and supplementary provisions as appear to the Department to be necessary or expedient.
