21. Where immediately before the appointed day any person's estate was subject to the jurisdiction of the High Court under the Lunacy Regulation (Ireland) Act 1871, Part VIII shall apply in that person's case as if it had been determined that he was a patient within the meaning of Part VIII.N.I.
