Title and commencementN.I.

1.  This Order may be cited as the Sex Discrimination (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) Order 1985 and shall come into operation on the expiration of twenty-one days from the day on which it is made.

InterpretationN.I.

2.  The [1954 c. 33] Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to Articles 1 and 3 as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Repeal of Article 29(b) of Sex Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 1976N.I.

3.  In Article 29 of the [1976 NI 15] Sex Discrimination (Northern Ireland) Order 1976 (which excepts physical training courses from the application of provisions of that Order making sex discrimination in education unlawful), sub-paragraph (b) (courses for teachers of physical training) and the word “or” preceding it shall cease to have effect except in relation to persons admitted to courses in an academic year beginning in a year earlier than the year in which there falls the day on which this Order comes into operation.
