SCHEDULE 2 N.I. Authorisation of short-term detention in hospital for examination etc

Part 2 N.I. The authorisation

Who may make a report under paragraph 2 N.I.

3—(1) In paragraph 2 “ an appropriate healthcare professional” means a person who— N.I.

(a) is of a prescribed description; and

(b) is unconnected with P (see section 304).

(2) The descriptions of person who may be prescribed under this paragraph include in particular—

(a) an approved social worker;

(b) a person of a prescribed description who is designated by the managing authority of the hospital specified in the report under paragraph 2 as a person who may make reports under that paragraph.
