In this Act—

• “the Department” means the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development,

• “notice” means notice in writing,

• “statutory provision” has the meaning given by section 1(f) of the Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954,

• “the Water Appeals Commission” means the Water Appeals Commission for Northern Ireland,

• “the 1975 Act” means the Reservoirs Act 1975.

The expressions listed in Schedule 2 are defined or otherwise explained for the purposes of this Act by the provisions indicated in the Schedule.
