Section 28 – Referrals relating to housing or well-being services
48.The assessment may identify that housing or well-being services are potentially required which might improve or prevent a deterioration in a person’s mental health. Where one of the mental health providers would not be responsible for providing such a service, a referral to the relevant provider of those services must be made or the individual invited to apply for the service, as the case may be. As some housing and well-being services are only potentially available if applied for by the individual who considers that they may require them, this section respects the different access requirements (referral or self-application) for those services.
