Appointed days
2.—(1) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 168 of the Act (administration of compensation) as modified by regulations made under section 286(3)(j) of the Act (financial assistance scheme for members of certain pension schemes) is the day after the day on which the first regulations under section 286 of the Act are made.
(2) The day appointed—
(a)for the coming into force of section 173(1)(b) in so far as it relates to section 174 of the Act (initial levy), 173(2), 173(4) and 173(5) of the Act (Pension Protection Fund); and
(b)section 175 of the Act (pension protection levies) in so far as it relates to a consultation by the Board under section 176 of the Act (supplementary provisions about pension protection levies),
is 20th June 2005.
(3) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 173(3)(k) of the Act—
(a)for the purpose only of conferring power to make regulations, is 1st June 2005; and
(b)for all other purposes, is 30th June 2005.
(4) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 176 of the Act—
(a)for the purpose only of conferring power to make regulations, is 27th May 2005; and
(b)for all other purposes, is 20th June 2005.
(5) The day appointed for the coming into force of sections 286 and 318(5) of the Act (general interpretation) is 1st June 2005.
(6) The day appointed for the coming into force of section 302(2) of the Act (dissolution of the Pensions Compensation Board) is 27th May 2005.
