2. In this Order—
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) “classified road” as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;
(ii)“the new trunk road” means the new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct and referred to in article 3 of the A3 Trunk Road (Hindhead) Order 2006(1);
(iii)“the slip roads” means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct and referred to in article 3 of the A3 (Hindhead) Slip Roads Order 2006(2);
(iv)“the trunk road” means the London-Portsmouth Trunk Road (A3)
(v)“site plan” means the plan contained in the plan folio numbered HA 10/MP/011, marked “The A3 Trunk Road (Hindhead) Detrunking Order 2006”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at ODPM – DfT, Records Management Branch, Floor 13, (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA
