The purpose of the joint scheme is to make grants and give other financial assistance for the development of sports and arts facilities in primary schools in England, for use by children and local communities, as part of the “Space for Sport and Arts” programme (which is to be operated in co-operation with other bodies, and whose purpose is to encourage the development of such facilities).
