This Order provides for the establishment of a Passenger Transport Executive for the metropolitan county of West Yorkshire.
Provision is made with respect to the proceedings of the Executive (Article 4). Provision is also made for applying to the Executive certain enactments relating to local authorities (Article 5), for enabling the Executive to appoint committees (Article 6) and to delegate functions to their Director General (Article 7) and for securing the validity of acts of the Executive and the authentication of documents issued by them (Article 8 and 9).
In addition, provision is made for the transfer to the Executive on 1st April 1974 of the powers and duties of the existing local authorities in connection with the road passenger transport undertakings which they operate within the new county of West Yorkshire (Article 10 and the Schedule), for the modification of statutory provisions relating to those undertakings (Article 11) and for enabling certain arrangements with respect to travel concessions on the services of those undertakings to be continued (Article 12).
