An Act to make new provision with respect to the registration of voters for the purposes of parliamentary and local government elections; to make other provision in relation to voting at such elections; and for connected purposes.

Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

C4Act: power to modify conferred by Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32), s. 4(4)(a) (with Sch. 11 para. 22), the affecting provision coming into force immediately after the 2007 election (held on 3.5.2007) subject to s. 161(4)(5) of the affecting Act, which provides for certain provisions to come into force for specified purposes immediately after the end of the initial period (which ended with the day of the first appointment of a First Minister on 25.5.2007) see ss. 46, 161(1)(4)(5) of the affecting Act.

C5Act: power to modify conferred by Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32), s. 13(4)(5)(a) (with Sch. 11 para. 22), the affecting provision coming into force immediately after the 2007 election (held on 3.5.2007) subject to s. 161(4)(5) of the affecting Act, which provides for certain provisions to come into force for specified purposes immediately after the end of the initial period (which ended with the day of the first appointment of a First Minister on 25.5.2007) see ss. 46, 161(1)(4)(5) of the affecting Act.
