2In section 3—
(a)in subsection (1)—
(i)for " Great Britain " where it first occurs substitute " the United Kingdom " and omit " either ";
(ii)after paragraph (a) insert—
“(aa)it was carrying on in Northern Ireland insurance business of that class immediately before 21st December 1967 (and was entitled to carry on that business under the Assurance Companies Acts (Northern Ireland) 1909 to 1947); or”;
(b)in subsection (2) for " either paragraph " substitute " paragraph (a), (aa) or (b) " and for the words from " in Great Britain " onwards substitute “insurance business (whether of that class or not)—
(a)in Great Britain, immediately before 3rd November 1966, or
(b)in Northern Ireland, immediately before 21st December 1967”.
