The Scottish Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 66(8)(a) of the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008(1).

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Scottish Court Service (Corporate Plan) Order 2010 and comes into force on 1st April 2010.

Planning period

2.  For the purposes of section 66(8)(a) of the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008 the date specified is 31st March 2011.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

Part 4 of the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008 establishes the Scottish Court Service (“the SCS”) as a body corporate. Section 66 provides that the SCS must, before the beginning of each planning period, prepare and submit a corporate plan to Scottish Ministers. Subsection (8)(a) provides that the first planning period begins on the day on which section 61 comes into force (which will be 1st April 2010 by virtue of the Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008 (Commencement No. 4, Transitional Provisions and Savings) Order 2010) and ends on a date to be specified by order. This Order specifies that date as 31st March 2011.
