The Department of Health and Social Services for Northern Ireland, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by paragraph 4(5) of Schedule 7 to the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:
1. This order may be cited as the Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Dependency) (Permitted Earnings Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1993 and shall come into operation on 12th April 1993.
2. In paragraph 4(4) of Schedule 7 to the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992—
(a)in head (a) for “£115” there shall be substituted “£120”; and
(b)in head (b) for “£15” and “£115” there shall be substituted “£16” and “£120” respectively.
3. The Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Dependency) (Permitted Earnings Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992(2) is hereby revoked.

Where a disablement pension with unemployability supplement is increased in respect of a child and the beneficiary is one of two persons who are spouses residing together or an unmarried couple, paragraph 4(4) of Schedule 7 to the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 provides that an increase shall not be payable in respect of the first child if the other person’s earnings are £115 a week or more and in respect of a further child for each complete £15 where the earnings exceed £115. This order substitutes the amount of £120 for the amount of £115 and £16 for the amount of £15.
Article 3 contains a revocation consequential upon the coming into operation of this order.

The Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Dependency) (Permitted Earnings Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992 (S.R. 1992 No. 101) amended section 64(1B) of the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Act 1975 (c. 15) and is applied to the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 by section 2(2) of the Social Security (Consequential Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Act 1992 (c. 9)
