27.Section 8 is a new section in the sense that it does not have an equivalent in either the Interpretation Order or the 1978 Act. It applies where an ASP confers power on the Scottish Ministers to bring the ASP into force on a day appointed by them by Order. Subsection (2) provides that the power may be exercised so as to appoint different days for different purposes.
