Food Standards Scotland is to have, as a member of staff, a chief executive.

The first chief executive is to be appointed by the Scottish Ministers on such terms and conditions as they determine.

Before appointing the first chief executive, the Scottish Ministers must consult Food Standards Scotland.

Food Standards Scotland may, with the approval of the Scottish Ministers, appoint subsequent chief executives on such terms and conditions as it, with the approval of the Scottish Ministers, determines.
