PART IXQUESTIONING OF ELECTIONS

79Presentation and service of local election petition.

A petition questioning any such local election as is referred to in section seventy-eight (in this Part referred to as a local election petition) may be presented either by four or more persons who voted as electors or had a right so to vote at the election or by a person alleging himself to have been a candidate at the election.

Any person whose election is questioned by the petition, and [F1, if the petition complains of his conduct, the Chief Electoral Officer] may be made a respondent to the petition.

The petition shall be in the prescribed form signed by the petitioner and shall be presented to the High Court in accordance with rules of court.

The prescribed officer shall send a copy of the petition to theā€¦F2 clerk of the local authority for which the election was held who shall forthwith publish it in the area of that local authority.

A local election petition shall be served in the prescribed manner.
