Matrimonial Causes Act (Northern Ireland) 1939

1939 CHAPTER 13

An Act to confer jurisdiction upon the [¹High Court] to decree the dissolution of marriages in certain cases; to amend the law relating to matrimonial causes and matters; and for other purposes connected with the matters aforesaid.

[4th July 1939]

The Act has been repealed subject to savings for—

(a)petitions for divorce or judicial separation pending at 18.4.1979 (the date on which the repeal of the Act took effect); and

(b)proceedings (i) on petitions for damages for adultery, or (ii) for restitution of conjugal rights (including proceedings for certain associated reliefs), pending at 18.4.1979.
